I'm kind of nervous about this but I think it's finally ready.
What I've been working on over the past few months is, in part, my website. I've added a few pages, changed some things around, and done a lot of CSS work. It's a lot cleaner than it used to be.
In addition to that (and this was the real time-sink), I'm now #selfhosting 9 different #libre applications available for anyone to use completely free of charge. #NixNet is now a Libre Hosting provider!
Linux: oh no my server died because someone unplugged it better plug it back in and check what needs fixi--oh it's already back up and everything is fine
Windows: [15 minutes before GW2 daily reset] NVIDIA WANTS TO UPDATE [entire computer freezes to the point where the sound card is just emitting a buzzing noise like you might find in a horror game] [Windows reboots] [it is now 7 minutes after GW2 daily reset and I am still not able to log into the game]
I worked on a custom layout for #Pixelfed, you will be able to use it and interact with your Mastodon accounts. I attached a short video to show you that.
When the api will be ready, you should be able to see your home, the local and the notification timelines for Pixelfed accounts.
PS: It's an example from the follow instance feature. That will be faster if you connect directly your Pixelfed account.
This very distant quasar has been magnified and split into three images due to the gravitational field of a foreground galaxy. The quasar would have gone undetected if not for the power of gravitational lensing, which boosted its brightness 50x #AAS233 …
I went ahead and also added a page with details about Mastodon's #ActivityPub implementation:
Let me know what you think.
Working on #pixelfed support allows me to deeply change pieces of code for making future integrations easier.
I am working on a replicable process for different layouts and API if needed.
I hope to finish soon.
There's a fire in the server room
Is your network unusually slow? Are websites blocked?
Install OONI Probe to find out if there's censorship or other anomalies on your network. It just got a major UX revamp, so it's easier to use than ever: https://ooni.torproject.org/post/revamped-ooni-probe-mobile-app/
Coming soon to F-Droid.
Given that some CI-Systems and IDS currently are significantly impacted by the US-Government-Shitdown, take a moment to think about this:
Imagine if Let's Encrypt were run by the US-Government…
The free certificate authority, which is the largest and most widely used cert provider in the world is a significant single point of failure for IT systems all over our planet.
As much as I endorse their services, we MUST build equivalent alternatives in the EU, Asia, Africa, Oceania. #Neuland
Curious to know what #Mastalab feature is the most important for you :
A - Follow remote instances
B - Customize tag timelines in media only
C - Connect your Peertube accounts
D - Other
Extra : What could be improved for your choice?
That's because it uses schedule from the device. I am working for extending this feature with the Mastodon api. It will be available in Mastodon 2.7. So I am ready to suggest the server side version.
